Version 1.05 is here!
Hi folks. It seems I've been neglecting this site for some time now. That's because I've really been focusing more on keeping updated on my Google+ game page, linked above.
However, I did want to mention that the next version of the game is now available, v. 1.05! Also, as something of a change of pace, You can now get all related documents in one place, in the Dreaming in Gears folder on Google Drive. Inside, you will find the Rulebook, Character Sheet, and (now separate from the Rulebook) Sample Adventures, in addition to the usual Changelog, Archetypes, and the fillable character sheet.
Note that some people might need to download the PDFs locally to get a better resolution if it doesn't look right. Enjoy, and stay thirsty my friends!

Version 1.04 is complete!
Version 1.04 of Dreaming in Gears is now complete and ready to be enjoyed/perused/demolished, at your leisure! Here are all your goodies:
- First off, the Rulebook.
- Character Sheets, available separately for those who just need access to those.
- A form-fillable spreadsheet Character Sheet. Note: To tag a skill, write 1 under the Tagged column. This will automatically add the right percentage to that skill.
- Archetypes, which is a framework structure for character generation, a step between starting from scratch and fully statted out pregens.
- The Changelog, if you want to see what changed since v1.03.
- Finally, here is a fun, little utility that can generate Primary Stats for you on the fly. Note: If you get the message "Sorry, try again!", just click again and you should get results.
I should also mention, if you didn't already know, I will be running a character generation and leveling up session next Friday, February 15 on G+. This session will not have any gaming - it's only concentrating on testing how well character generation is handled by people, so it shouldn't run terribly long. If people are satisfied with their PCs, I will consider running a game with those PCs afterward, perhaps a week or two later. Happy gaming, folks!

It's been a while since I posted, but I've been busy. Here's a quick heads up about what I'm working on, and what's in store for everyone down the road.
Currently working on:
- Rulebook v1.04. Not many changes here, but those that are, are kind of heavy.
- Access the changelog here.
In the pipeline:
1. Quick Start Guide. This will include:
- A blank character sheet for printing out and writing on, the old fashioned way
- A link to the automated spreadsheet character sheet for easier character generation
- A handful of fully statted out pregens
- A dozen or so of archetypes (framework that is a step between blank sheets and full pregens) that players can complete themselves
- A shortened listing of the rules, possibly written in a more conversational style for easier grokking
2. A short supplement (not yet named), which will contain more Features, Boons, and Spells to choose from. I chose to go with a supplement instead of including it in the next version simply because it would be an easier workload to handle for me. Otherwise, it would be a major investment of time and work for space and layout purposes.
- I'll be taking community feedback if there's something cool they want to add here.
- I am looking at more fun and wild stuff to do in-game here, and more options, not just a case of mechanical number creep.
I'm pondering whether to do the supplement before the QSG. If I do, I can include the new stuff in the QSG, too.
Keep on gaming, and be excellent to each other!

Version 1.03 is now complete!
This was an enormous version update. In addition to numerous minor changes and additions, probably the biggest change is the removal of the Standard-Move-Minor gameplay mechanic. It has been replaced with an Action Point system, which should prove to be lots more fun and fluid to play with.
- Download the Rulebook here.
- Download the Character Sheet separately here.
- As always, you can see all the changes that went into v1.03 here.
I can now start to focus on putting together the Quick Start Guide. It will include more than a dozen pregens, for quicker pick-up-and-play, in addition to more Features, Boons, and perhaps some additional rules. We'll see how it goes.

I have uploaded a work-in-progress version of the newest version of the Core Rulebook, which is version 1.03. The download link below has been updated to reflect this.
I've also been updating the Changelog (link below) with additional changes. Make sure to check it out for the latest information as well! :)

As mentioned before, I want to make Dreaming in Gears the best game that it can be. To that end, I have started working on a changelog to keep track of all the changes, additions, and other goings-on that will be going into the next beta version (1.03). The document can be accessed here, and comments have been enabled to facilitate further and ongoing discussion with fans of the game.

It had come to my attention that the link to the character sheet was incorrect. It is now fixed and should work as intended.

The beta version of the Rulebook is now complete! I'm very excited to release this version out into the wild and make improvements to make it the best game it can be. I am more than happy to hear your thoughts! Email me and let's chat!
- Download the WIP Rulebook here.
- Download the Character Sheet separately here. This is for the 1.02 beta. V1.03 sheet coming soon!
In the pipeline:
I'm working on creating a Quick Start Guide supplement, complete with various pregenerated characters and streamlined/condensed rules, to make it easier and faster to get right into the action.
After that, I will focus on making the character sheet a digitally-fillable document, so you won't be forced to print it out if you don't want to.
